Scott Cook is a fairly new resident of Sarasota, Florida who is (hyper) active in the Internet arena, with a special emphasis on Microsoft networking and where all these advancements will take us.

Scott has cultivated a phenomenal network of relationships, ranging from the biggest tech companies, (Microsoft, Road Runner), and Intuit to major players on cable television, (Time Warner, Court TV), foreign governments, (Argentina, Canada) and of course the local software development shops, IT outsourcers and IT consultants.

He manages to keep in touch with a large number of people via several formats: his monthly newsletter (SunCoast Tech Babble), is read by an audience of over 200 monthly. He couldn’t do without his new Vonage IP phone, and his “always-on-the-hip”, Nextel cellphone.

Scott has been profiled in Info World, PC Week, and with Time Warner Road Runner in Portland, Maine. He was a technical consultant for the book, “The 1 Minute Solaris Manager” that can be bought at Amazon.com. Scott’s article on preventing IT disasters is still one of the most popular articles on the Maine Software Developer’s website.

Scott Cook has been a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer on NT 4 and Windows 2000 for over six years and also holds industry recognized certifications that include Citrix Certified Administrator 3.0, and Network+.

In his spare time Scott likes to ride his mountain bike in Myakka State Park in Florida and is an avid runner. Scott has competed in and completed the London Marathon and the New York City Marathon and over 250 half marathons, 10 kilometer, 5 mile and 5 kilometer road races since 1980, (and he has the t-shirts to prove it!)
